In-service training
"I hear and I forget. I see and I remember. I do and I understand." (Confucius, 551BC)
"I have no special talent. I am only passionately curious."
— Albert Einstein (1952)
In the eye care sector, learning is always continuous due to evolving technologies and innovative treatments. By acquring new knowledge, we connect this to the concepts, that we already have, to understand how the new knoweldge can be implemented clinically. We don't just learn knowledge and facts, but we also learn skills and attitudes. We want to do a better job and have the satisfaction being a competent clinician.
Our training modules can be conducted at your clinic as a group or one-on-one. This offers focused learning and enhanced engagement through demonstration. Some training modules may include a touch of medical science background and its applications to understand eye conditions and treatments. The training session is ideal for, but not limited to, orthoptists who want to brush up or broaden their knowledge in clinical ophthalmology. We also provide practical training for non-clinical staff members who want to make a transition towards an ophthalmic technician, or even new orthoptic hire, as part of the onboarding process. If you are an optical dispenser and wants to become an ophthalmic technician, we encourage you do the training session with us. New orthoptic graduates, who are hired by us as locum orthoptist, will be provided some of our training modules as part of the mentorship. This is deemed a best and practical way to gain confidence and gradually become a competent orthoptist. Some of the training modules include: - History taking - Basic slit lamp techniques - Cataract workup & post-op aftercare - Corneal biomicroscopy and many more to come in the pipeline.
